Educating the Poorest of the Poor
Compassion Beyond Borders' scholarships educate girls in 60 communities and neighborhoods of Latin America, East Africa and South Asia. The schools and education centers that CBB funds become a resource to their community, transforming the lives not only of the girls, but of their families and neighborhoods as well.
How can an organization based in the United States know how to administer education projects on three developing continents? CBB administers its programs not by having Americans living abroad telling local people what to do, but by funding indigenous grass-roots leadership that knows the needs of their communities and how to meet them. Not only is this a most effective way to administer scholarships across widely differing cultures, it is also cost-efficient, since it avoids funding expensive American administrative structures.
